No. There is no automatic transfer mechanism from GEM to the Main Board.
However, if a GEM-listed issuer meets the Main Board admission criteria, has been listed on GEM for a full financial year, and not a subject of disciplinary investigations by the Exchange for serious or potential serious rule breaches during the preceding 12 months, it can apply to the Listing Division for a transfer of listing from GEM to Main Board.
In case, a GEM issuer wishes to apply for listing on the Main Board, the Exchange will treat it as a new application, and require the issuer to meet all the qualifications for listing on the Main Board at set out in the Listing Rules, including the publication of the listing document. It is a business decision to transfer listing from one market to another. The Exchange will ensure the issuer’s securities going through a smooth transit during the transition stage.
