BMI Appraisals Limited has been awarded as Caring Company 2008-2012
BMI Appraisals has again been awarded as Caring Company 2008-12 by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of its efforts in performing corporate social responsibilities and continuous supports to the community and environment.
BMI Appraisals is dedicated to the development of promoting a caring community. We have provided cash donations to various charitable organizations and frequently participated in social activities, including the Community Chest Skip Lunch Day, Blood Donation Day and elderly centre visits. We also devote ourselves to educational enhancement from time to time. We have continuously provided two scholarships known as “BMI Appraisals Limited Scholarship” and “Dr. Tony Cheng Scholarship” to the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Fresh Fish Trader’s School respectively since 2010.
In the future, we will continue to support and return to the society and demonstrate our good corporate citizenship. |

Journal of IFM – Not Late To Participate In Carbon, CDM Now Has Life Until 2017
BMI Appraisals Limited Managing Director - Dr. Tony Cheng was invited to participate in the Vol. 11 of the Journal of IFM again. One of his articles – “Not Late To Participate In Carbon, CDM Now Has Life Until 2017” is released in April 2012 to share his distinctive insights on the environmental protection with all readers.
Journal of IFM is published by International Financial Management Association (IFMA). IFMA is a global professional financial organization engaging in the research of theory and application of financial management, the promotion of globalization of financial management, the research and promotion of professional standard for financial management.

BMI Technical Consulting (Resources) Limited were invited by HKICPA to speak on a topic of “Key Aspects of Valuation of Mineral Projects”.
Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) is hosting wide variety of CPD courses and seminars on regular basis to its members. On 24 April 2012, Managing Director - Mr. Derek Chan and Director - Mr. Paul Lau of BMI Technical Consulting (Resources) Limited were invited by HKICPA to speak on a topic of “Key Aspects of Valuation of Mineral Projects”.
Mr. Chan introduced the major components of Competent Person Report (CPR) and explained the technical requirements of compiling a qualified CPR. From another different angle, Mr. Lau emphasized on the financial aspects and risks associated with different scenarios of the mineral valuation projects of which accounting professionals might encounter. Collectively, Mr. Chan and Mr. Lau presented an integrated introduction of conducting valuation of mineral projects to the audiences.

Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) is hosting wide variety of CPD courses and seminars on regular basis to its members. On 21 May 2012, Mr. Marco Sze, Director of BMI Technical Consulting (Biological Assets) Limited were invited by HKICPA to speak on a topic of “Investments in Biological Assets”
Mr. Sze presented an update of the investment trend in biological assets in the capital market and explained the benefits of biological assets as an investment tool. Furthermore, Mr. Sze addressed the risks associated with investment in biological assets. From the technical side of the investment, Mr. Sze also equipped the audiences with general idea of Hong Kong Accounting Rules related to biological assets and the valuation methodology of such investment.

A Professional IPO Training Programme - BMI Consultants (Shenzhen) Limited
A Professional IPO Training Programme was held by BMI Consultants (Shenzhen) Limited on 31 May 2012.This programme was held by Ms. Irene Song, the director of BMI Consultants (Shenzhen) Limited and Manager of Investment and Financing Department. Our of corporate partners and staff of Investment and Financing Department also took an active part in the training programme.Through questions and issues of IPO and case examples, Our participants were able to analyze solutions pratically in dealing with those issues.

Marketing Seminar regarding IPO of business in HK- BMI Management Advisory (Xiamen) Co., Ltd.
On June 14, 2012, A marketing seminar regarding IPO of business in HK was held in Westin Hotel, Hefei City, Anhui Province by BMI Management Advisory (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. and Industrial Bank Hefei Branch
During the promotion, experts from the BMI Management Advisory (Xiamen) Co., Ltd, the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Co., Ltd, the Bank of America Merrill Lynch, the Jingtian & Gongcheng Law Firm and some other Hong Kong-listed intermediaries shared their views and opinions about the theme of "Listing in Hong Kong”. The seminar ehchanced the understanding of those presented Anui local entreprenuers regarding the preparation work, process and issues of IPO.
