The forum “Challenges to Directors – Looking at the new normal of Director and Officer Liabilities” was jointly organized by BM Intelligence Group, HKiNED and AIG, and successfully held at the Hong Kong Exhibition Centre on 25 January 2016.

The forum received enormous attention from the social and business people. Attendance reached 500 and all seats were occupied at the venue. Participants of the forum include directors of listed companies, senior officers and people who concern with the topic. Mr. Anthony Fan, President of the Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Director Association, was invited to give the opening address at the forum. Mr. Fan pointed out the importance of looking into increasingly onerous duties and responsibilities of directors and officers.

We were pleased to have Ms. Alva Lee, Director of Risk Consulting from KPMG, Mr. Patrick Perry, Partner of Clyde & Co, Ms. Jessica Lee from Clyde and Co and Ms. Cynthia Sze, Head of Financial Lines from AID Insurance Hong Kong, to be the speakers of the forum. They analyzed the new normal of director and officer liabilities at various aspects ranging from risks and legal liability to insurance. At the end of the forum, Mr. Roy Lo, Deputy President of HKiNED, was invited to host the panel discussion. Participants were enthusiastic in raising questions on director and officer liabilities. The forum ended with great success.

In order to consolidate the sense of belonging of the staff, to facilitate the cooperation among different teams and to strengthen the communication of colleagues, BMI Hong Kong organized the BMI Team Building Day on 8th January 2016.

The event started at 2pm in Kwun Tong. There many activities on that day. To begin with, all the staff formed into 6 teams for the games. Each game gave out prizes for the champion, first runner-up and second runner-up. Moreover, each team had to compete for the overall championship. All the participants were so enthusiastic during the team building event. Therefore, all the teams received cash prizes as rewards.

The team building event ended at 6pm. After the event, the staffs were invited to visit the Showroom of Prestige Food HK. The annual dinner was held in a Japanese restaurant. Mr. Lowell Lo, the Chairman of BMI Group, generously gave out cash prizes for lucky draw session during the annual dinner. 2016 BMI Team Building Day ended with the annual dinner.
