Mr. Patrick, Shum, President of BMI Funds Management Limited, was the speaker of ˇ§Seminar on Winning Investment Strategies for the Fourth Quarterˇ¨, which was held on November 13, 2010 (Saturday) at Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers under the hosting of Economic Digest and the sponsorship of BMI Funds Management Limited. This event attracted almost 600 distinguished guests for sharing and exchanging investment strategies.
President Shum was the speaker of ˇ§Mind Reading in Stock MarketˇĐTrend Analysis & Forecast of Stock Marketˇ¨. He firstly explained the capital flow conditions with the fact that the QE2 of the United States, as expected, injected significant mount of capital into the investment market. Stock markets, flooded with global hot money, were characterized by the significant trading volume. The stock market would definitely further grow as long as the market capital remains strong.
He also mentioned that governmental policies were even more important than the fundamental factors, especially for the investment in domestic shares. Power, petroleum, telecommunication and mainland property were the major sectors suppressed by the national strategies while the sectors of automobiles, electrical appliances, new sources of energy and domestic consumption were well supported.
President Shum advised the investors to carefully examine the situations and adjust the investment strategies with the changes of relevant policies. Investors may also pay attention to the effects of the ˇ§Twelfth Five-year Planˇ¨ blueprint as well as those industries under national support with top-priority. He also addressed that current bull market was not on solid economic ground. Therefore, investors may need more short-term deployment and prepare for ˇ§investment withdrawalˇ¨ from time to time. For the questions of how to make a timely decision for ˇ§investment withdrawalˇ¨ under this unexpected market conditions, the answer is to keep an eye on trading volume and business results of individual shares.

ˇ§BMI Group's Professional Training & Seminarˇ¨ was held from 30 November to 3 December. This 4-day training aimed at improving the professional knowledge and expertise of our colleagues, and enhancing our communication with business partners and other professionals.
Our internal training was held from 30 November to 2 December, with our participating colleagues from both Hong Kong and Mainland China. The representatives from various departments took this opportunity to share the selling skills and professional knowledge. In addition, they also introduced the development of the industries and their departments, enabling the colleagues to have a better understanding on different industries and departments.
On 3 December, we held an event for the public and invited our business partners as all as other professionals. The seminar took place from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the theme of ˇ§M&A rules in Hong Kong IPO and Case Studies" and Acquisition of Mineral Properties for Listed Companies". BMI Group successfully took this seminar as an opportunity to facilitate the knowledge sharing with the public.

Promotion Month for Professional Financial Seminars by BMI Shenzhen

In November, BMI Shenzhen launched four professional seminars on a series of topics including listing and financing, financial and taxation consultancy, international audit, private equity funds and company secretary. All the four seminars involved various areas which tailored for different customers. Several topics from our corporate services department targeted at overseas small-to-medium enterprises, which included the selection of different locations of registration and the comparison on the relevant financial and taxation regulations, the operational techniques of investing registered overseas (offshore) companies, tax planning techniques and strategies of overseas (offshore) companies. The topic of tax-saving techniques of general corporate taxpayers in daily operation targeted at the small-to-medium domestic enterprises. We also tailored several topics for large domestic and oversea enterprises, which covered a number of frequently asked questions, including listing procedures, matters of concerns during listing period, the listing of PRC enterprises. These activities attracted enterprises from Shenzhen and all over the nation. With their active participation, there were around a hundred of participants.
The heads of department and the participants discussed about the difficulties and confusion encountered in their daily work, and explored the solutions together. Through this sharing platform, our clients would be able to fully understand BMI's unique role in consultation and its precision of professional problem-solving skills, while our professional staff would improve their services and expertise, so as to provide customers with better one-stop financial services. |
